Continuity References- |
|
Superman and Aquaman
address each other as Kal and Arthur.
Aquaman mentions
Mariana, a place either in or outside Atlantis.
Superman mentions
that the Atom and Steel made some 'Deep-Sea communicators'
The 'purple healing
ray' of the Amazons is something that Dr Fate can also conjure.
Aquaman's trident is
used. Fate augments its power.
Fate says he's
usually in the Salem tower.
Atlantis is seen
much like in JLU #11.

Continuity Go Bye Bye |
|
Faust is alive,
although his status MAY be debatable seeing he is glowing purple, similar to
how he was when he was 'undead'.
His behavior is also
out-of-character, with bickering back and forth with Black Manta.
Dr Fate's unmasked
appearance is radically different from his original appearances in DCAU (in
Superman: the Animated Series) |

Review
|
|
Fresh off his
appearance in the previous issue #25
The Devil May Care,
Dr Fate appears again, and this time he is "pulling a J'onn" (the whole
alone in the world deal). The presentation of Fate attempts to be human but
sacrifices the mystery and authority that was Fate in JLU by inserting humor
and uncertainty, something many fans may not be prepared to accept. Other
than Fate, the writer also seems to present Faust out-of-character. Eerily
this feels a lot like the treatment that Superman: the Animated Movie:
Brainiac Attacks received. |

Quotes |

Booster Gold:
Dr.
Fate, do you want a communicator?
Dr. Fate: Will you
be saying something clever?
Booster: (long
pause)...maybe.
Aquaman: Let's see
how well the guardian does when it faces me.
(gets whacked hard
to the floor by the guardian)
Booster Gold: Looks
like the guardian's doing pretty well. |
