Synopsis- SPOILER ALERT!!!
In a Christmas battle with Clayface, The Flash breaks rank and inadvertedly allows one of Clayface's minions to escape. he and Batman have an argument and Batman tells him to chase down the crook, ruining Flash's schedule of doing monitor duty and looking for a game console for himself. Whilst on the chase, he encounters the Phantom Stranger who arranges for him to have a better understanding of Batman. he shows him two of Batman's memories, one where he as Batman makes an excuse to get away from Christmas dinner with the Kents after seeing a Grey Ghost ornament, and and one where little Bruce receives a gift of a Grey Ghost action figure with a flyer. For a moment Bruce forgets about his parents and his vengeance. He immediately regrets it and sets aside his new toy. Once the Phantom Stranger leaves, the Flash apprehends the suspect. His new understanding of Bruce/Batman causes him to place an order for a Gray Ghost figure as a gift to Batman for Christmas.
Continuity Peg- POSITIVE
The issue remains safe and does not touch on anything that could be against standard continuity. The issue deals with Clark and the Kents, Bruce's childhood and a 'random' Flash adventure, all of which staples of most of the DCAU series to begin with. It is however unclear where to put this in terms of the timeline. Although possibly, this occurs before JLU-3:05 Flash and Substance wherein Batman subtly 'defends' the Flash's character to Orion.
Continuity References-

Batman refers to the numerous times he has fought Clayface and freezes him like some of the times he has 'taken care of' him in the past.

The Grey Ghost is seen as Batman's childhood symbol. He had previously appeared in Batman: the Animated Series.

Continuity Go Bye Bye

Review

A beautifully-told Christmas story detailing some of the more painful times of batman's life, notably in Christmas. the Phantom Stranger once again allows a leaguer access to a view beyond this reality, this time in the past. The art is odd for a JLU comic and seems to be a bit on the fritz, but coupled with the storyline makes for a very interesting read.
Notable for

- featuring Bruce Wayne as a child

- highlighting Flash and Batman's friendship, much like in JLU-3:05 Flash and Substance

- featuring the Grey Ghost, a fictional 'fictional' character in the DCAU
